Who’s It For?

The Tour World (TW) 747 product line from Honma is predicated on providing explosive distance through high ball speeds and low spin for golfers. Specifically, the TW747 455 driver is packed with a plethora of technologies in both its clubhead and its stock shafts that are designed to increase swing speed and, therefore, distance. The TW747 455 driver features a more compact head shape and a center of gravity positioned slightly more forward, which will appeal to fast swingers and low-handicap golfers. For those searching for a high-launch, high-MOI design, the TW747 460 driver may work better.

The Tech Story

Perhaps the most unique technology inside the Honma TW747 drivers is what the company calls Four-Fang Face technology. Inside the clubhead, two pairs of fangs are placed at the top and the bottom of the clubface, stabilizing those locations to provide better feel and performance on mis-hits. Meanwhile, Four-Fang Face technology also increases face flexing in the center of the clubface, generating more distance with lower spin on center strikes. The light-ribbed carbon crowd is the lightest ever produced on a driver by Honma, featuring cutting edge ET40 composite material that produces weight savings which, in the case of the TW747 455 driver, were used to bring additional weight to the perimeter of the clubhead and add to forgiveness. The TW747 455 driver also includes a weight placed in the toe side of the sole to counteract the draw bias of the TW747 460 driver design. Additionally, Honma utilizes hand-rolled Vizard shafts to execute the shaft alignment philosophy, which is positioning the dominant spine of the club on the bottom of the shaft when the club is at address for better performance. Honma’s Non-Rotating adjustable hosel system allows golfers to adjust loft, lie, and face angle while keeping the shaft in the same orientation.
