TaylorMade M6 D-Type Fairway Wood
Who’s It For?
The TaylorMade M6 D-Type fairway wood includes Twist Face technology for the first time ever in a fairway wood, promoting maximum forgiveness on off-center strikes. The M6 D-Type fairway wood is also constructed to prevent unwanted fade or block trajectories thanks to internal and external adjustments made to the clubhead to stimulate a draw trajectory. Golfers in search of maximum adjustability options without the sacrifice of Twist Face may prefer the M5 fairway wood. Meanwhile, players more focused on a higher launch without the need for a draw bias will likely prefer the M6.
The Tech Story
TaylorMade has taken note of the most common struggle golfers face and constructed a fairway wood to counteract it. The M6 D-Type fairway wood delivers all of the same technology as the M6, but in a draw-biased package. This is achieved thanks to divergent face masking and modified internal weighting, placed more toward the heel, that effectively delivers additional draw bias in the ball flight up to 15 yards. Twist Face is also present the M6 D-Type, which amplifies forgiveness in the form of slight adjustments in the shape of the club face. The heel of the face is slightly closed while the toe is slightly opened to accommodate for the common toe-hook and heel-fade misses. The result is an extremely hot club face all across the hitting area, including outside the sweet spot. The Advanced Speed Pocket design that is found in the M6 is also in the M6 D-Type, improving both launch and turf interaction thanks to a new TPU slot insert.
