The XP-1 irons, specifically, have been constructed progressively in an effort to provide golfers with the ideal launch conditions and playability with each club throughout the set. This set is best suited for mid- to high-handicap golfers or golfers with medium swing speeds.
The Tech Story
The XP-1 irons from Honma are designed to provide high launch, distance, and forgiveness. These attributes are delivered through a game-improvement design that features a thick sole and a thin, fast clubface that provides longer carry distance. Meanwhile, the set is constructed progressively to produce optimal launch conditions and center of gravity locations. The long irons (4-7) are hollow with a tungsten sole weight, while the shorter irons feature a deep cavity to offer the forgiveness in a smaller clubhead. Additionally, the head and shaft are engineered in tandem to produce a total club with precise parts working together to improve performance.
