TaylorMade M6 D-Type Driver
Who’s It For?
TaylorMade’s breakthrough advancement in its M3 and M4 series, Twist Face, has been enhanced in the brand new M5 and M6 series drivers for even more explosive ball speed and forgiveness. Speed Injected Twist Face pushes the speed limits set by the USGA and R&A thanks to a revolutionary resin injection process. The M6 D-Type driver includes Speed Injected Twist Face and an altered face angle to create a draw bias for golfers who often miss with an undesired block or fade. Golfers not searching for fade correction but would like the distance and forgiveness in the M6 D-Type should try the standard M6 driver. Meanwhile, while also including Speed Injected Twist Face technology, the M5 driver includes premium adjustability options while the M5 Tour driver boasts a smaller address profile and lower spin rates.
The Tech Story
The TaylorMade M5 and M6 series drivers all include Speed Injected Twist Face, an enhancement of TaylorMade’s revolutionary Twist Face technology found in the M3 and M4 series drivers. Twist Face slightly opens the toe of the clubface and slightly closes the heel of the clubface to improve both ball speed and accuracy on off-center strikes. The M5 and M6 drivers are initially engineered to surpass the legal speed limit set by the USGA and R&A prior to undergoing a tuning process and a resin-injection process to ensure maximum ball speed is achieved. The resin-injection process uses two tuning ports, located in the bottom corners of the clubface, and a proprietary algorithm to inject the exact amount of resin necessary. The TaylorMade M6 D-Type driver also includes an aerodynamic carbon sole design with the Inertia Generator, which stores 46 grams of weight low and back for maximum forgiveness across the entire impact zone. Additionally, the altered clubhead design promotes a high-launching, draw trajectory thanks to a face angle that appears more open, resulting in a closed face at impact.
