Who’s It For?

For over half of a century, Miura has been producing exceptional iron sets through its patented forging process. This construction process has yielded some of the best looking and feeling sets of players irons in the world, and Miura has become a popular choice for professionals because of it. However, Miura has largely stayed away from game-improvement irons. The Passing Point Neo 9005 Genesis irons are an exception, however. This set can be played by a wide range of golfers, including both low and high handicappers.

The Tech Story

Miura began forging premium irons in 1957, and its process is unique in many ways. Other than its rare venture into the game-improvement market, most notable about Miura is that it only releases new products knowing it’s a substantial upgrade over past models. The Passing Point 9003 irons represented a shift from the muscleback template Miura has used, but the model still didn’t appeal to high-handicap players. The Passing Point Neo 9005 Genesis irons, meanwhile, feature a wider topline and sole, a thinner clubface, and a deep undercut channel that runs from heel to toe. Due to these features, the Passing Point Neo 9005 Genesis irons are the longest Miura irons ever. Meanwhile, despite the two-piece construction, exceptional feel is not sacrificed thanks to Miura’s patented forging process. Every Miura iron design, including the Passing Point Neo 9005 Genesis, originates from a single billet of soft carbon steel. Miura engineers then added an ultra-thin 455 carpenter steel clubface onto the forged carbon steel. The result is a pleasantly muted sound and feel that cannot be found in most game improvement irons. From an appearance standpoint, these irons feature a shiny satin finish that will appeal to any golfer.
